Twelve Months

It really is crazy to see the change and growth Paxton has made in twelve months. His little personality shines through more and more each day. From day one he had those big eyes wide open that just wanted to take in the world, and still today he is the same way. Always on the go exploring everything around him! He has become quite the little walker. That is all he wants to do now days is use those legs to walk, and walk. I feel bad at times that our apartment is so small, and because he is always exploring I have to close off some of the rooms which makes the place even smaller. We try to get out at least once a day so that he isn't too bored. He still takes two naps a day so we have a small window of time around lunch to go out and have some fun. He is such a trooper putting up with all my trips to different stores haha He weighs 18lbs10oz and is 30in tall. Still really small for his age, but that is nothing new :) I try not to stress about food and feeding him, but it is hard when I know how small he is. He has defiantly started getting more picky! Some of his favorite foods are cheese, ravioli, oatmeal, pancakes, tomatoes, avocados and bananas. He can say mama, dada and nana but I don't think he has associated them with their meanings yet. Soon enough though because he walks around the house jabbering all day long! People tell us how handsome & cute he is all the time, and that he has the biggest blue eyes and longest eyelashes ever! We are pretty bias and totally agree haha Here are some extra pictures we captured over the past month.

Making a Ravioli mess!
New big boy carseat!
Reading a book with dad.. sometimes dad makes us words instead of reading the book like it's written ;)
Happy boy riding Dumbo at the toy store
He learned how to drink for a straw while on vacation is Utah
At his twelve month check up
His top two teeth finally came in and my family kept saying he looks like Spongebob now! He's got quite the gap... good thing for braces!
Watching cartoons in the morning.. Sesame Street!
Paxton still loves bath time. We usually have to give him one right after dinner because he is so messy. As soon as he hears the water running, he goes running for the bathroom!

Wedding Week in Utah

My sister's big week had finally arrived! It was crazy madness trying to get everything ready and help my mom, but in the end it turned out beautiful and amazing :)

We spent the first part of the week at my Aunt & Uncles house. We tried to enjoy being outside as much as possible!
My dad said fast forward this picture 15 years and you would have two bad apples hahah
Nothing like a late night run for ice cream on the golf cart, with a bunch of crazy girls singing Taylor Swift haha poor dad...
I was able to be there for Lexi going through the temple for the first time :) It's so awesome having another sibling make it to the temple.
A couple days before the wedding we moved our stuff downtown to stay at the Marriott there. Some friend from Texas even flew in for the wedding! Kelcie and Lexi have been friends since first grade, and Cheryl is like another mother to Lexi. All the girls getting ready to go shopping and poor Paxton along for the ride... haha
Being silly.. last night as a single lady!
Like I said, the wedding day was beautiful and everything turned out picture perfect! The sealing was amazing. So happy for my little sister :) it is kind of weird having someone else married because for so long it was just me!
Even with all the craziness, Grandma Victoria still made time for her little boy haha
Love was in the air haha
So there you go, another one bites the dust haha just kidding congrats to Lexi & Tanner!

First Birthday, Circus Style!

On Saturday, we planned a little birthday party for Paxton. With Pinterest, it is hard not to get carried away so we tried to keep it simple, but still fun for me to plan and put together :) I had decided Circus theme a few months before, and my mom was so nice to help me find cute decorations for the big day. I know all our family were really sad they couldn't be around for the party, but we had a great time celebrating with our Arizona friends.

This is the invitation I created and sent out.
The details
A sign I made to show a little bit about Paxton :)

My awesome friend Morgan who is a legit baker made the cupcakes, and smash cake. Not only did they look adorable, but they tasted amazing!
At first he was a little timid, just picking off the circle decorations...
but eventually he went for it, and took a bite haha
I think some of the other kids were wishing they could join in!
I wish I would have been able to get a picture of everyone there! But we had such a fun time celebrating our little Paxton Shawn.

August 2nd, 2013

The day my baby turned ONE! This day came a lot faster than I ever imagined.... I think I gave Paxton lots of extra snuggles and loves on his birthday because I realized how fast time can go. Austin had to work that day, so I took Paxton to an indoor playground that I had heard about from a friend. He loved it! We ended up staying there for an hour because he was having so much fun! It was perfect for him because they had a little toddler area so he wasn't being trampled by the older kids, and they still had a small slide, tunnel and climbing area just for little toddlers.
He was so worn out after the playground. When he woke up from his afternoon nap, dad was home and ready to open presents!
To be honest, after opening all his fun gifts, all he really cared about was dumping out the legos and dragging the bucket around the house haha It's hard shopping for gifts that a one year old will use and actually enjoy! But I'm sure he will grow into them :) After gifts, we went swimming for a little while with dad which is one of Paxton's favorite things to do. We didn't smash any cake on his actual birthday because we planned a whole party the next day, and didn't want him getting sick from too much cake haha

The Children's Museum

Since living in Phoenix, we have heard a lot about the Children's Museum and how fun it is for kids. I was so excited when Paxton started walking that I would finally be able to take him there! The public library gives out passes for free so Paxton and I camped out for an hour to get one of these coveted passes. Austin had the next day off, so we planned a family day to downtown Phoenix. Paxton was in heaven with all the different rooms, and activities there!

Wanting to go up the slide instead of down haha
Sorry for all the blurry pictures, but it is hard trying to get this little man to stand still for two seconds!
After being at the museum for only 40 minutes, the worst possible thing happened... Paxton tripped and fell right into a corner. I just remember seeing him face down and going to pick him up praying there wasn't any blood. I don't know how, but luckily he didn't split his head open, he just had the biggest goose-egg ever :( I am pretty sure I cried more than he did. But seriously, who doesn't pad or at least round the corners at a Children's Museum?! Kids are running around there all day this is the first place that should have something.
So our day of family fun was short lived, but at least he was able to enjoy it a little bit.
