Our Home Away From Home.. Texas

Yes we made another trip to Texas haha we just can't go very long without visiting! I miss Texas so much! We were there for only a week, but that week flew by! I don't have any idea what we did, well mostly shopped, but I know we were busy the whole time. Paxton got spoiled beyond spoiled that's for sure haha lucky him for being the first grandchild, and being the first boy!

Mom and Jessica so excited to have their little boy back :)
I know Abby has crazy eyes in this picture, but Paxton was very interested in her this trip. More than usual now that he is crawling. When we first got there he would try to follow her around but she didn't like it. Then one day she decided to lick his face and he did NOT like that! Abby had won and Paxton left her alone for the most part haha
Jessica being a good aunt and reading to Paxton :)
One of the days we took a trip over to the new George W. Bush Presidential Library. It was actually really cool! They had a whole exhibit about 9/11 which brought back a lot of sad memories. He talked a lot about his faith and God throughout the exhibit, makes you miss have a president like that. Paxton was pretty tired and a little bit crabby during the trip so I didn't get to experience it as much as I would have liked, but I'm sure we will be back again! haha
After the library, we went to the North Park mall. Paxton took a nice long nap so that I could shop ;) When he woke up we took him to try on shoes. He wasn't very happy to be taking pictures and wrestling him to get shoes on his feet, but that didn't stop us from buying him the cutest little Sperry's!! Just like grandpa haha
Doing some bedtime reading. Loves the Hungry Caterpillar book :)
The first few days in Texas Paxton was attached to my leg, and would not leave my side. After a couple days he got use to grandma's house and we soon learned it was not very baby proof... haha
My mom's best friend Marie :) we love them!!
Tormenting Abby because she was stuck outside haha
Like I said, such a quick trip but so fun! We always have a blast in Texas.

Sedona

We finally took a trip to Sedona on Memorial Day! Austin was wishing we could take a fun family vacation, but with boards coming up again, and then a trip to Utah we settled on a small getaway to Sedona. I'm so glad we went because it is beautiful up there!

None of the pictures even do justice of how red the rocks are there..
We left Monday morning and drove straight to the canyon to hike. We got there around noon. It was so fun, not a very hard hike and the weather was perfect. It felt nice being outside and with no cell phone service :)
A couple times we had to cross over a small river, and at one point it really opened up so we took a break and let Paxton dip his toes in the cold water. He was in heaven :)
After hiking for a few hours, we headed back to the main street where our hotel was. We got cleaned up, and ate at this great placed called the Cowboy Club. I don't know if I was just really hungry, but I swear it was the best cheeseburger I'd had in a while! We walked around the different shops a little bit longer, then headed back to the hotel for a swim in the pool.
The next day we headed south to a place in Camp Verde called Out of Africa. Our friends were nice enough to give us a coupon because the place is a little pricy. It was another fun day riding around to see different animals.
They gave us all carrots to feed the giraffe. Well during the bus ride I think Pax got a little hungry cause we looked down to see him chewing on a carrot! haha
This picture cracks me up!! haha
After that it was back to Phoenix. Just a quick little getaway but so fun creating memories together as a family :)

Nine Months

Another month older, and I can't believe how fast Paxton is developing. I swear each week there is something new he has learned to do! He is such a happy boy with two bottom teeth now!

His sleep schedule has finally clicked which is amazing. I always worried that since I rocked him to sleep in the beginning, and let him sleep in our bed that we would go through torture trying to get him to sleep on his own. But I feel like he decided overnight that he wanted to be on his own. It was right around the time he learned how to put his pacifier back in his mouth that he no longer wanted me to rock him, and he started sleeping through the night. It kind of makes me sad somedays that he's no longer the little baby I use to rock, but I will take it if it means sleeping though the night. His typical schedule is bed time between 7:00-8:00pm, then he wakes up around 7:00-8:00am. He will take a couple naps during the day usually around 9:30 and 1:30.

When we got back from Utah, and he got really sick, and had a hard time taking his bottle for about a month. I was really nervous cause even though he can eat normal food now, I still feel like he needs those nutrients, but he has gotten a lot better the past couple weeks. Apparently our genes aren't helping him out at all because he went from the 25th percentile to the 4th for weight at his last checkup haha He's just a little shrimp! The doctor wasn't too worried and says they usually level off around nine months from all the moving. I believe that cause he is a mover that's for sure! He still does his army crawl and I don't think he will ever "normal" crawl now. He knows how to get up on all fours, but then psychs us out and flops back down on his belly haha I think now he would rather walk and cruse around than learn how to crawl. As of yesterday he has started pulling himself up on things which has really opened up a whole new worlds for him, and lot more head bonks for me! He is such an awesome little boy and we love him so very much! I hope he knows that from all the kisses he gets haha

A picture of him at his nine month appointment. I get comments daily about those killer eyes and long eyelashes... he doesn't know how lucky he is! And being a boy he probably won't even care...
Likes to stick his bum in the air when he sleeps haha
Protesting a nap
Good morning mom, I'm not tired anymore haha
He cracks me up the way he crosses his legs when he is in the stroller
Loves chewing on apples. He usually cries when I take it away...
He has become a lot more active at the pool, and isn't afraid to get wet!
Such a goober, I turned around to see him licking and blowing bubbles on the fridge.
Finally able to reach mom's decorative balls.. yes!
Pulling himself up on the coffee table. Austin likes that he has a pile of toys right next to him, but he would rather get the booger sucker lol
Paxton's latest toy which he loves! We walk the length of our apartment many times during the day. Makes me realize how much we are outgrowing this place already.
And this past Sunday I got to celebrate my first official Mother's Day! The boys did a great job of spoiling me with breakfast in bed, and a chance to take a break sometime to get a pedicure :) I can not even being to explain the happiness and love that has come from being Paxton's mother. It is life changing in the best way.

Another visitor.. Grandpa Shawn!

Just a couple weeks after Austin's family left, my dad was in town on business for a few days. We were happy to see him, and wished the rest of my family could have joined too! Paxton and I took advantage of his nice pool and went swimming one afternoon, and then met up with him later that night for dinner. Once again it was too short of a trip, but he will be back again in a couple weeks for business once more :)

Weekend Visitors

At the end of April we had Wade, Debbie and Ashley come visit for the weekend. It was a short trip but so fun to see them all! We enjoyed time at the pool, park, shopping, and hanging around the house just taking advantage of the family time :) We are very excited to see them again this summer in Utah!
