One Last Hoorah!

As much as I would like to think my life is perfect, and that every day is a happy day, it is most definitely not. Last week was proof of that. I was having a couple of down days and Austin could tell. Saturday night, after another rough day at work, I came home to the sweetest note ever! Austin called it our "one last hoorah" and basically let me pick whether I wanted to go to Sedona, stay at a hotel in Scottsdale or go on a shopping spree! I may have cried a little at how excited I was haha but seriously how lucky am I to have such an amazing husband! After a few hours debating between the three, we decided to combine two of them and stay at a hotel, plus give me a little money to go shopping with the next day :D Our budget landed us at the Biltmore Hotel. We had such a fun time swimming, going out to eat at California Pizza Kitchen, and mainly just relaxing together while enjoying our one last getaway trip before summer is officially over...

The room
They had a fun water slide that Austin went down a few times
 The pool!
 Ready for dinner
 Cheese
View from our room & ready to go shopping!
I can honestly say this has been one of the best summers of my life. I don't think we will ever get to go on as many trips as we did this year. I can't believe that summer is over, and it is now time for Austin to start school again... I have been so spoiled having my best friend here with me every minute of every day! Yet somehow we made it through last year, so I know we will be able to make it through this year too!

Heat Wave

It's the end of August and we are in the middle of a heat wave. No bueno! On the news last night they said that typically in the month of August we only get 2 days over 110, and this week alone we are suppose to get 4 days not just over 110, but 115! The other day Austin and I were in a fabric store that had a broken A/C. Luckily, they had these huge fans cranked down to 65 degrees. This was the happiest I had seen Austin all day standing in front of this huge fan. He even asked me on the way out if I would buy him one of those for our apartment haha
Oh and one other thing.. as I'm asking this lady at the cut counter a question, I turn around and there is Austin with his head stuck up one of the A/C tubes (it was a different machine than the one in the picture) hahaha this other lady came around the corner and had to tell him not to stick his head in there. Austin may look 25 but he acts like a 4 years old some times haha but I still love him. It should be interesting to see how our kids turn out, and if they act more like Austin or me...

Bear Lake

We made it to Utah! After spending some time in Texas, we ended our stay and headed up to see Austin's family. Sunday afternoon we took a drive up to Logan and then on to Nell's cabin. I don't really know where it is located, but it is somewhere in the canyon between Logan and Bear Lake. Austin and I have been to the cabin once before so it was fun to go back again, but this time it only being the Horrocks family! Here are some pictures of the place...
 Makayla!!
This Elk was the coolest of all the animals in the cabin. It is huge and apparently holds some sort of state record!
After settling in, we found some things around the cabin to entertain us for the night. We tested out the zip line, took a hike around the cabin, and then the boys started up a fire so we could roast some hot dogs and marshmallows.

Makayla loved being pushed on the swing. She spent most of the time trying to get people outside to swing with her haha
Ashley was a great moving target for Austin to practice on!
 Cheese!
He always has his tongue hanging out!
 Goin' on a hike
 So pretty!
The cabin all nestled in the woods
 Roasting weenies!
Brooklyn really likes to point at people haha it is so cute!
 Look at those cheeks!
 She is so cute!
Makayla kept asking me to take pictures of her making silly faces. This is just one of many...
The next morning we were all up bright and early so we could spend the day at Bear Lake. Wade and Debbie rented a boat for a few hours which was awesome! We pretty much had the lake all to ourselves.
 Captain of the boat!
 Just chillin
Everyone was so surprised that Makalya went out on the tube!
Ashley was pretty legit on that wakeboard
Austin thought he was pretty legit too out there flexing haha
Poor Brooklyn was so tired at the end but she was a trooper
Austin and his tongue out again haha
 Too cute!
After numerous attempts Wade finally made it up on the wakeboard!
I think this picture pretty much sums up how he felt hahahah
After the boat we sent a few hours just hanging out on the beach
Before we headed back to the cabin for the night, we had to stop and get some fresh raspberry shakes! They were sooo good :D Overall, I think we all had an awesome time together! Only a few more days left on our month long vacation and then it will be back to Arizona.
