The 2 Month Mark

Wow. 2 more months till Austin & I are finally married. I can't believe we have been engaged now for 6 months now!! That must be some type of Provo/Mormon record haha

I guess in honor of this day I will recap our meeting and our engagement :D

Our meeting wasn't the most romantic but you can't help where you meet someone! Austin was working at Abercrombie & Fitch in Provo. During winter semester I went to apply for a job. When I went to apply Austin was the first person I met and he was the one who helped me fill out the application. I can still remember the day. Austin felt the need to make fun of the fact that I was from Texas but I think he was just flirting ;D I remember going back and telling my roommates about the hot guys that worked there but really I was only referring to one... Austin ruled the store and I was the shy girl who never talked and got stuck folding all the clothes no one else wanted to fold. It wasn't until April that we actually hung out, outside of work and became really good friends. Unfortunately it wasn't soon enough because a week later, I was off to Texas for 2 months. Yet the whole time I was gone we talked all day, every day and when I returned in June, Austin was there to pick me up from the airport. As everyone knows, the rest was history... When I think back to those months in Texas, those were the months we really fell for each other. We be came best of friends through text message. It's crazy to think that by the time we are married we will have been friends for 2 years!! How lucky am I to be marrying my best friend :D

Also in honor of our meeting we plan on putting two moose atop our wedding cake! Hopefully we can find some haha

As for the engagement.. I had told Austin time & time again that I didn't want some big, out of control proposal but rather a more meaningful and sentimental proposal. I got just that! November 2008 Austin & I went on a date to Olive Garden in Salt Lake City. It was the night we both knew we were in love. Throughout our relationship we would talk about that night often and how special it was for the both of us. A week or two later while Austin was riding the bus home from school, he received an answer to prayers that was defiantly unexpected. He knew then that I would be the one he would marry :D Many times as we drove past that spot Austin would shout out "I was right here!" referring to that time on the bus. On Saturday, August 15th Austin took me up to Salt Lake City for his Grandpa's 80th birthday party. After the party he kept telling me how much he wanted to have Olive Garden. We went back to that same restaurant where we had fallen in love and enjoyed a nice dinner. We then traveled back to Provo where Austin kept telling me how much he wanted to go for a walk. I was very much opposed to going for a walk because I didn't have on the right shoes but I gave into his request. We walked a very silent walk (I was still a little angry ;D) down the street to the place where Austin got his answer months before. As we drew close to the place I had a moment where I wondered what I would do if Austin decided to propose to me. Much to my surprise (since I thought the ring wouldn't be done for a while) Austin pulled me to the side and said "I got an answer here once and I need another answer from you". He dropped down on one knee and I thought I might pass out. This was the moment I dreamed of my whole life. I guess I took to long to answer because Austin had to get off his knee to explain to me that this was indeed real!

So there it is. While the whole engagement is kind of starting to drag on, I can't believe how far we have come. I can honestly say I am more in love now than I was 6 months ago. I am so excited to be marrying the man of my dreams.

New Suit. New Suit

Yay for finding Austin something to wear for the wedding! When we first picked our colors (chocolate brown and pinks) we didn't realize how hard it would be to find chocolate brown clothing! Luckily, Austin found an awesome chocolate brown suit to wear for the wedding. We had it all tailored and even found shoes to match. One more person that is set for the big day!

I must say... it makes me anxious to get my dress. I don't get it till the end of March which is probably a good thing seeing as I would try it on everyday until the actual wedding day haha.

Almost 2 months away till the big day!!

Love.

Can I just say, I have the most amazing man in this world! I love him more than words can express and feel so grateful to have him as my valentine :D

After our get away to Phoenix was cancelled this weekend, Austin kept asking me what I wanted for Valentines Day. While I told him numerous times I didn't want flowers (even though secretly I did) he knew better than to listen to me and got me beautiful red roses. I must say... even though it is so cliche to get roses on Valentines Day, I love it. There is just something about getting flowers that makes a girl feel like she is loved and special.

Also I mentioned before on the blog that Austin had ordered some picture frames for my birthday/valentines present. Well just in time, they were done this weekend!! I was so excited that I went and picked them up myself. Unfortunately, Austin was wanting to pick them up and surprise me when I got to his house... guess I ruined that surprise haha. Anyway, here are the amazing picture frames that I cannot wait to put up in our house!!

That night Austin and I went out to a romantic valentines dinner at Goodwood. I must say it felt good to eat something else besides pizza and pasta which seem to be our food staples in life. Afterwards, we hit up the movie Valentines Day. While we were waiting in line this drunk lady came stumbling down the hall and started puking in the trash can next to us.... not something you see everyday in Provo haha We also ran into our good friends Helen and Chase at the movies which was fun. Overall the movie was kind of depressing in a way... while there were some good parts, I felt it was about people breaking up, and having affairs. The only couples in the movie who actually worked out were in high school. It is so sad that this is what the world has come to that and Hollywood has basically portrayed marriage as not being able to succeed because someone in the marriage ends up cheating. Satan has really done a number on the world and while it scares me sometimes to think about affairs, I know that marriages can be successful if you are doing what you are suppose to and centering your life around Christ.

Overall I had a wonderful valentines day with my amazing fiance that I cannot wait to marry in April and I am so excited for the many more valentines days we have to share together :D

xoxo.

Snow.... I hate you.

There aren't many things in this world that I hate but I do have to say... I hate the snow. I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing good that comes from the snow. You can't drive in it unless you feel like digging your grave first, walking around when it snows is just miserable, it makes you fat cause all you want to do is sit inside and eat when it snows. Oh yeah and when it snows in Texas, they cancel over 800 flights and make it so that my weekend get away to Phoenix is cancelled.... yeah I hate the snow.

Austin and I were suppose to go to Phoenix this weekend and not only enjoy the beautiful weather there, but also pick out a place for us to live. Well we couldn't go without a "chaperone"... lame I know. So now that our plans were cancelled we were left with.... nothing to do!! Yesterday after I got done with my interview, and Austin got done with work we sat around... all day... It was like pouring salt into a open wound knowing where we were suppose to be but being stuck in Provo. The only good thing that came out of us staying here was that I had an interview with a possible internship at Rain. It's a pretty done deal but I have to wait till next week to know for sure so wish me luck!!

Well I guess I'll stop complaining and wish everyone who is mormon a Happy Valentines Day!!

One Crazy Weekend

Man this weekend was quite the adventure. Thursday Austin found a couch online at RC Willey. We decided to go check it out before the sale ended on Saturday. Needless to say... we fell in love. Neither of us wanted to make a hasty decision so we went home and slept on it. The next day we went back and once again we knew this was going to be our couch :D Can I just say, it was so exciting buying out first piece of furniture for our new little place. It is starting to feel official that we will be married in 2 1/2 months!!

Saturday Austin had booked a couple of different appointments at flower shops in Salt Lake. Before we hit Salt Lake we stopped in Draper to drop off Austin's suit to be fitted. Funny story. Back in January Austin and I found an amazing chocolate brown suit with pinstripes to wear at the wedding. Ironically the suit was in Arizona and had to be shipped to us in Utah. When we got the suit Austin took it to the Provo Dillards to be tailored. When we got to the Dillards the "manager" of the store fitted Austin for his alterations.... lets just say this guy had no idea what he was doing. Austin didn't feel comfortable leaving his suit there so we took it back to the Dillards in Draper where we originally ordered the suit. When the woman went to fit Austin for his alterations she couldn't believe how horrible of a job the last guy had done with Austin's measurements. Thank goodness Austin knew better than to leave the suit in Provo Austin might have ended up with some high water pants at our wedding!!

After Dillards we headed over to Nordstom's rack where I eyed a beautiful chocolate brown dress for my sister Lexi. Can I just say what a pain in the butt it is to try and find the perfect chocolate brown for this wedding!! We have been getting lucky lately so hopefully the luck continues and I can find a dress for my little sister Jessica.

Our next stop... Flowers. Man I have been pretty relaxed when it came to picking out things for the wedding but flowers... they were a little more overwhelming. We met with a woman at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building who was so excited about our colors and wedding. She had so many great ideas and I felt really good after I left. Next we hit up Every Blooming Thing. The man who met with us was really knowledgeable about his flowers. He also had some great ideas but it was hard to concentrate with his cat rolling around on the consult table. Now I can't give away everything but here are a few sneak peeks of what I'm looking for at my wedding.

On Sunday we drove up to Logan with Austin's dad and sister to attend church with Austin's brother and wife. We also got to see cute little Makayla! She is getting so big and is just the cutest little girl! I am so excited to have her as niece. After church Austin had to be back for the big super bowl game. When we got back to Austin's house there was a huge party raging. I didn't really get to enjoy the super bowl since I had lots and lots of homework to get done (You would think after 3 years in college I wouldn't procrastinate but I feel like I've gotten worse the closer I get to graduation). I was pretty excited when the Saints won!! Austin...not so much (I don't really like Peyton... it would have been cool to see Austin Collie win a super bowl his first year though... )

To end I thought I would put some of my favorite commercials from the Super Bowl (since I am an advertising major I find it fitting)

21!

So yesterday I celebrated my 21st birthday!! I had so much fun celebrating with all my friends.

Friday
My birthday festivities started Friday when Austin and I picked out my birthday present. You know you're getting old when all you want for your birthday is stuff to decorate your house with. I found the cutest little furniture store in Lindon, UT called Four-Chairs Furniture that not only sells cute (but pricy) furniture, but also makes custom picture frames. As soon as I saw them I was dying to get some for our house.

While the white one is the exact same style and color as the one I ordered, the yellow one is the same style but with a brick red color, and black glaze. They will look awesome once they're done!!

Saturday

Saturday we had planned on holding a "fiesta" at Austin's house but plans changed, and we decided to go out to eat with my roommates, and friends at Macaroni Grill. It was so much fun being surrounded by friends, and just having a good time together.

Of course someone had to go tell the waitress it was my birthday so one of the girls that works at Macaroni Grill came and sang Happy Birthday to me in Italian. It was so beautiful, but kind of awkward to sit there and listen.

After dinner a few of us went back to Austin's house to eat the AMAZING cake Austin had made for me. Not only did it look amazing, but it tasted amazing.. must be from all those food network shows we watch ;D

Monday- My Birthday!!

Sunday night I had a nice birthday present saying two of my Monday classes were cancelled. That meant I got to sleep in a few extra minutes on my birthday, before I woke up to do homework (boring I know). When I stumbled out to the kitchen for some breakfast, I found a happy birthday sign posted on the wall.

After chillin around the house most of the day, and going to my night classes, I met up with Austin so we could go out to a nice, simple dinner at Costa Vida. We then went back to my place where my roommates were cooking up something special. They had been slaving away on another delicious birthday cake. I must say I got so lucky with my new roommates... they are awesome!!

We ate some cake, watched John Tucker Must Die, and called it a night. Overall my birthday was awesome! I couldn't have asked for better roommates, friends, and wonderful fiance!!

Oh and check out the sweet slippers my roommate Hilary bought me! They are called Oobees and I LOVE them!! I hate wearing slippers that when you wear them outside they rip holes in the bottom, and get all ruined. Well these my friends are all-terrain slippers!

As a side note-- I also applied for graduation yesterday!!! Talk about feeling old on your birthday... I can't believe come April I will be walking at graduation and in August finally be graduated from college!
