Four Months

Holy cow does time fly when you are having fun! Paxton is already four months old! He is growing so fast, and is becoming more fun and more active every day. We went to the doctors and right now he is 13lbs 5oz and 24in long. He is still a little guy, but I don't think that will change any time soon :) As long as he is growing, then that's all that matters to us. He has started laughing out loud and cooing. I love it so much! I could just sit there all day and talk to him in his little baby talk, but when dad gets home from work at night he is all giggles. He loves to have "wrestle time" with dad, and play airplane. He absolutely loves his jungle play mat and spends most of his time in there going crazy! Literally he just freaks out and moves his arms and legs as fast as he can to kick and touch all the hanging objects. Another one of my favorite things is whenever I get him after he has just woken up, he gives me the biggest gummy smile. It makes my heart so happy :D It is the greatest thing when they start to recognize who you are. He is doing an awesome job at trying to sit up, and head control. Sometimes when I will prop him on a pillow I can see him trying to crunch his hardest to sit straight up. Once he gets there he can't stay there long so he just falls over to the side.

This is Paxton looking all dapper at church on Sunday. He has outgrown most of his 0-3month clothes, but is still a little small for his 3-6month clothes. Just right in between the two sizes.
Austin absolutely loves this picture! We crack up at his football hat
I see he reads books like his dad... ;D
These next two pictures crack me up! He makes the funniest faces sometimes
This little guy is OBSESSED with his fingers right now. He is constantly sucking, or chewing on them. I wonder if he will get teeth soon cause he also drools like crazy, but who knows. Austin is so afraid he will be come a hand sucker, or a thumb sucker so we try to pull them out whenever we see him doing it, but that never stops him for long...
My goal all along was to move Paxton to his own room at four months. Over the black friday weekend we found a deal on a baby monitor, so having that has helped with the transition. Yes we are those paranoid parents that we wanted to get a video monitor. It was a little rocky the first few days, but it has gotten a lot better. I think it was a lot of change coming back from a vacation, and then moving to a new bed. For now I have taken the bumper off his crib because he isn't very good about moving his face if something is obstructing his breathing, but once he gets better at that we will definitely have to put it back on. I have woken up a couple of times and had to help him with his legs in between the rails, or his head pushed up against the rails.
When we got back from Thanksgiving, I pulled out our Christmas decorations. I am so excited to celebrate Paxton's first Christmas :) We decided instead of buying him a first Christmas ornament, we would make him one with his handprint. It took a couple of tries but finally turned out. He is always so fascinated with the lights on the tree. At night if he starts getting crabby, I will walk him over to look at the lights, and he just becomes mesmerized.
We are having so much fun with this little guy, and trying to enjoy every moment we get with him. We are starting to learn just how fast they change! Happy four months little Pax!

Turkey Days

This year for Thanksgiving break, we took a trip up north to Utah! My family was going out for the holiday, so we decided to meet up with them. This was Paxton's first plane ride, and we did it without Austin! I was so nervous, but Paxton was an angel. He took his bottle right at take off, and then slept the whole time. Luckily the trip was only 1.5 hours and there were lots of other families on the plane so it made it less stressful.
My parents picked us up from the airport and then we headed over to City Creek for some dinner. Austin's grandparents came over for a few minutes to meet the little guy.
After that we were off to Logan! We took lots of road trips during our week break. We went to Logan to see my grandparents, and Aunt Christine. Then we headed even farther north to Rexburg! Paxton did great in the car, taking lots of long naps and playing with Aunt Jessica and mom.
While in Rexburg, Paxton got to meet his Great-Grandma Wendy and Great-Grandpa Drew. Along with my aunt and uncle, and my sister's boyfriend Tanner. We stayed in Rexburg a few days which was fun because I had never been there before. It was quite small. Luckily the weather was nice and not freezing like I've heard it usually is :) My mom really wanted to get a picture of us because we all have blue eyes
On Tuesday we started the trip back down to Highland. We made a little pit stop in Pocatello so that Paxton could meet his Great-Great-Grandma Timpson! It was so cool being able to capture a five generation photo.
Paxton hanging out with Grandpa Shawn at Five Guys!
Thursday was Thanksgiving, and we celebrated at my Aunt and Uncle's house in Highland. Their little son has a safari room so we wanted to get a picture with Paxton and the lion haha he has this look on his face like "What the heck is this?!"
Austin was lucky enough to make it out Wednesday night, just in time for Thanksgiving! We were so so excited that he could come out and celebrate with us.
With the sisters
Thanksgiving was so fun, and it was exciting to see all our extended family while showing off Paxton. Friday we spent most of the day in SLC with Austin's family. We went shopping at City Creek for a little bit.
That night we took advantage of having family around to watch Paxton while we went to a Jazz game! Austin was beyond thrilled to go :D It was our first childless date night since Paxton was born!

By Saturday Paxton was done with traveling and just wanted to be home. He was so crabby all day long, but the next day he could tell he was back in his own element and was just fine. For the most part he did such a great job with his first big trip, and meeting lots of family! We had an awesome time getting away and loved helping Paxton celebrate his first Thanksgiving :D

Scrub-a-dub-dub

Scrub-a-dub-dub... Paxton in the tub haha that is what I sing when I am giving Paxton a bath. Usually I am the one taking care of him during bath time, but Austin wanted to have a go at it tonight. That gave me time to finally snap some pics since I have been wanting to document Paxton in the bath for a while. I think these next pictures describe how Paxton felt about the change....

At first he was a little confused as to why dad was the one giving him a bath. Look at that face! haha
He had to get some reassurance from mom that it was ok for dad to be performing bath time...
In the end he was all smiles, and loved bath time with dad!!
Now that dad knows what he is doing, I think he might be in charge more often ;D

First Halloween!

Not only was this Paxton's first Halloween, it was his first holiday to celebrate! Last Wednesday our church had a trunk-or-treat, so we took Paxton and had a blast. I bought his outfit before he was even born, and I was so glad it fit him for the night :)

As we were taking this picture of Paxton he was just being such a character! I was dying laughing :) He has become so smily lately and I love it!!
I took this picture last night on the actual Halloween night. We didn't do much, just hung out as a family and ate our left over candy ;)

Grand Canyon Road Trip

Austin just finished up with another rotation, so over the weekend we decided we needed to take a little family vacation and get out of Glendale for a few days. We have tried planning trips to northern Arizona before, but always came up with an excuse not to do it. Well this time we were going to be adventurous! Austin finished up with a test Friday morning, and then we were off to Flagstaff for the night! This was Paxton's first road trip and he did great :D He slept most of the time which made for a nice drive.
It was so crazy as we made the two hour drive to Flagstaff how much the landscape changed! One minute it is cactus and desert, and the next it is beautiful trees and forests.
Paxton had never really experienced anything below 70 degrees, so arriving in Flagstaff and feeling the cool 40 degree air on his face was quite a shock! He did get to use some of the cute sweaters that grandma got for him though :D
Saturday we got all ready and made another short drive to the Grand Canyon. It was absolutely beautiful once we made it there. We made it to the first look out point and all the sudden Austin tells me not to turn around. I then hear a few people exclaiming that there was a tarantula!! Those nasty spiders are my BIGGEST fear! Everyone around was look and taking pictures, but I just wanted to get as far away from it as I could! After that we had a great time walking around and taking lots of pictures. We only went to one lookout point, but you could literally spend days going to all the different sights.
We had to try out our panoramic feature on the iphone
Happy Boy at the Grand Canyon!
We really did have such a fun time making memories together as a family :)

A Name and a Blessing

Over the weekend we were blessed to have so much family in town as we celebrated Paxton, and his blessing. My family was the first to arrive, followed by Austin's family, Jason, Nell and Wade. This was the first time that Austin's family got to meet little Paxton. It was so fun, and kind of crazy at times cramming everyone into our little apartment to just enjoy time together as a family :)

On Friday, my friend Sadie was so nice to come take some last minute family pictures for us. These are just a few of my favorites :)
I can't even begin to describe how much I love these boys!!
Everyone getting to meet and hold Paxton for the first time!
Wade didn't get in until later Saturday, so earlier that day we all took a walk down to the park to feed ducks, and play at the park!
Apparently the ducks didn't want to be fed at that time, so we fed the fish instead haha
Getting a ride home from Uncle Austin
The girls were dying to go swimming at the pool, even though the water was a little chilly :)
Sunday was the big day! Paxton looked absolutely adorable in his blessing outfit. Austin gave a beautiful and very touching blessing. He was even able to make it through without getting too emotional. Pax was great and didn't even cry :D It was so surreal listening to Austin bless Paxton, and knowing that he is our son. I hope that throughout his life we will strive to be the best parents, and examples we can be to raise him close to our Heavenly Father.
The whole fam!
 Love my son :)
Afterwards we had a nice lunch hanging out with family and friends
I think Brookie enjoyed the cupcakes haha
Before leaving Paxton decided to show off some smiles for the family, and my dad was able to catch a few pics!
Paxton being Paxton haha His blue steel model pose ;)
 Cousins!! :D
The weekend went by way too fast, and we were sad to see everyone go... Luckily we have the holidays coming up right around the corner, so we know we will get to see everyone again soon :D
