I couldn't help but post this video because I saw it the other day, and let's just say... I might have lost it haha Being an advertising major at heart, I love when ads hit there target audience right on the nose, and this commercial did just that. It was just what I needed to hear to realize that being a stay at home mom is worth it. And for all those times when I feel I have no idea what I'm doing, or if what I am doing is making a difference. Let's just say I love it and I wish Paxton could say all those things to me! I guess for now I will just take this commercial as reassurance that I am doing ok :)

Twenty-Fourth Birthday and Six Months
On Friday I turned 24! I am getting old... haha especially now that I have a kid I feel old. To celebrate our friends Kali and Ryan watched Paxton so we could treat ourselves to Cheesecake Factory. It was nice remembering what life was like going out on dates before Pax, although we both missed him. We skipped the cheesecake though because Austin had bought me a birthday cake. At our local grocery story they sell "Cake Boss" cakes, so I had been wanting to try it for a while and see if it was anything amazing. Not gonna lie... it wasn't anything special. But at least now I know!
The next day (February 2nd) Paxton turned six months old!! I can not believe he is already that big!
We really love the stage he is at right now! I know as a first time parent we think that about every stage they hit, but honestly he is so fun! He is totally developing his own personality. He is very social like his dad haha He loves to wrestle with dad, and laugh at mom. He is obsessed with being on his stomach which has led to interesting nights. I wake up all the time to him just talking and chilling on his stomach, or if he is really tired he will just fall asleep on his stomach which he never use to do. We started him on baby food in Texas. So far he has just tried squash, carrots, and sweet potatoes since you are suppose to wait 3-4 days in between new foods. He was not a huge fan of the carrots.. but likes the others. Austin wanted to start him on veggies first because he learned from a pediatrician that if you start with the good stuff (fruits) first, then they won't like veggies as much. Pax is working hard at trying to sit up by himself. He wiggles his legs like he wants to crawl, but still hasn't realized he needs to lift that belly off the ground! Sleeping has been interesting.. we got in a really bad habit of letting him sleep in bed with us while we were gone for that month. Now that we are back we are trying to get him use to his crib again which is hit and miss. Everything he touches goes in his mouth. It is so funny to think that is how babies discover new things haha He likes when I read books to him, and some of his favorites are Click, Clack Moo Cows That Type, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I go to the doctor next week so I don't know what his weight and hight are right now. I doubt he is lacking.. he is a chunk haha I've come to discover that being a parent is challenging at times, but so worth it when that little guy smiles and looks as us with those big blue eyes :)
Texas in January
After our time in Litchfield, we headed straight to Texas. Austin had set it up to finish his rotation with two weeks at a Radiology office in Fort Worth. This was Paxton's first trip to Texas so he had to sport his cowboy boots!
While in Texas, Paxton had his first try of a little rice teething biscuit called Baby Mum Mums, along with some baby squash. He loved them both! But he is one messy boy...
We took Austin to try out a burger place called Twisted Root. It was featured on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives. I think we ate our body weight in calories that day haha but it was awesome!
Just playing with the piggie toes, and getting better at rolling over.
Also working on sitting up (with pillows to break the fall haha )
We took a walk to the park one day and tried Paxton out on the swing. He was a fan :D
After spending three weeks in Texas, and being spoiled beyond belief my family was so sad to see us go. We had so much fun on our month long trip! All the hospitality and love that was shown from all of our families made it easy to be away from home for so long. Hopefully one day we will all live a little closer :D
Getting in the Christmas Spirit
(December 8th)
Since Austin and I have been together, even when we were dating, we have always taken a night to make and decorate sugar cookies together. This year we were so excited to include Paxton in the tradition. He may have even got a little lick of icing from his dad!

Christmas in Litchfield
Sorry it has taken me forever to blog! Dumb Blogger has made it a hassle to upload photos so it takes a lot longer.. plus we have been gone for over a month! But we were so excited to spend time out in Litchfield for Christmas. And to make things even better, after the Christmas break Austin had set up a two week Anesthesiology rotation at the hospital so we got to stay even longer!
We took this picture of Paxton the day before we left for Litchfield. His very first Christmas!
We had to get a picture of Paxton and Papa Wade on the Harley with their Harley gear on!
Meeting Great Grandma Nail for the first time Christmas Eve
Waiting for Santa under the Christmas tree :)
Christmas Day was so fun! Paxton got beyond spoiled from everyone with lots of toys and clothes.
Pax was wishing Papa Wade would help him get some of those M&M's out of the candy dish
Austin has been talking about taking Paxton to Litchfield forever! He was so excited to take him to all the local hot spots, Pizza Man being one of those spots.
Riding four wheelers out at Steve and Diane's house. It was cold!
Just playing with his new LOL Elmo
Chief Steve cooking up some Lobsters New Years Eve
Capturing a four generations picture
We really did have so much fun spending time with family. The only down side to the trip was Pax and I both got sick... no flu but still it wasn't fun. Everyone was so sad to see us leave, and we were sad to go! Hopefully we will be able to make another trip out soon :)
